INTERVIEWS

Hold those facts tightly

Strategically, there are many reasons why you may want to withhold details or evidence from your suspect during the interview process.

The term “withholding” really means keeping the information within the confines of the investigative resources.

This refers to information that you, and perhaps your witness, are aware of regarding the incident.

By not releasing that information to your subject, it gives you several advantages during the interview and conversation related to the incident.
