City of London Police Partners with Loss Prevention Magazine EU to Warn Retailers about Fraud Scams

The City of London Police has formed a new media partnership to help its intelligence team reach retailers with quick time fraud alerts.

The force’s National Fraud Intelligence Bureau (NFIB) is now using Loss Prevention Magazine EU’s free smart phone app, which launched earlier this year and already has hundreds of industry subscribers, to warn businesses about threats they face from economic crime and cyber-enabled and cyber-dependent fraud attacks.

City of London Police Detective Superintendent Pete O’Doherty, who is Head of the NFIB, said:

“The Loss Prevention Magazine EU smart phone app is a great way for the NFIB to quickly send out information to retailers, in particular their heads of loss prevention and risk, about established and emerging frauds and cyber-crimes which could be a threat to their business and customers.

“Crime prevention through greater public and business awareness of the UK’s major economic threats is a key priority for the City of London Police and we are focusing on using the best forms of modern technology, such as smart phone apps, to reach as many people as possible with alerts relevant to who they are and what they do.”

Louise Henham, managing director of ORIS Media and editor of LP Magazine EU, said:

“We are delighted to have formed this relationship with the City of London Police. We already have hundreds of subscribers to the free app which provides daily news, views and crime updates to the LP industry.  Sending out NFIB alerts are another way of adding value to our subscribers and should encourage other retailers to download the app.”

The LP Magazine EU app can be downloaded from iTunes and GooglePlay.
