15 April webinar will probe inside the global gift card fraud network
From laundering to draining, scams to solutions, a unique retail industry webinar is set to probe into the shadowy international world of how gift cards became the currency of fraud.
On 15th April 2026 (10:00 -12:00 BST) ORIS Media in partnership with Enviricard’s FraudBloQR will be hosting this free webinar providing attending retail delegates with intelligence on how to navigate the global and domestic reality of gift card abuse as well as highlighting how the sector is responding to meet the challenge.
Gift card draining, an international scam impacting many leading high street brands will be one topic under the forensic spotlight. The fraud believed to be worth billions of dollars across the globe involves wholesale gift card tampering in store.
Following introductions from ORIS Media, the publishers of Loss Prevention Magazine Europe, Professor Mark Button of the University of Portsmouth and Co-Director of the Centre of Cyber and Economic Crime will explore the growing trend in gift card money laundering.
He will be followed by John Hallam and Ryan Shaw of the National Retail Crime Alliance (NRCA) who will discuss the collaborative and co-ordinated approach as well as the law enforcement response to international gift card draining.
Stu Butler and Graham Lycett of Enviricard’s FraudBloQR will then explore solutions to the challenge and how it can be tackled at source
It is a retailer only event and has already attracted a high level of interest from major brands.
